Project SLAM is a national Functional Prime Contract awarded by the MOD to Debut Services to deliver single living accommodation to MOD service personnel. The contract is an example of the Defence Estates Prime Contracting initiative, delivering better value through collaborative working between the construction industry and the MOD.

Construction work for Project SLAM commenced in 2003 and involves the upgrade/ reprovision of over 19,000 bed spaces, together with utility and common areas and ancillary facilities for service personnel across the country. The improved living conditions are impacting positively on recruitment and retention of service personnel with a consequential enhancement in operational effectiveness.

• RAF High Wycombe – 78 new beds for senior officers
• Vimy Barracks, Catterick – Junior ranks accommodation comprising 392 beds
• Culdrose Naval Base, Cornwall – 400 beds for junior ranks
• RAF Brize Norton – 22 new beds for senior officers and 42 new beds for junior ranks
• Imjin Barracks, Gloucester – 252 beds for junior ranks and Non Commissioned Officers
